WCE volunteers are needed for Evanston’s 2nd Annual Back to School Family Fun Fest, co sponsored by the City of Evanston and Be Strong Families. The popular community event is on Saturday, August 17 between 12:00- 4:00 PM at the Robert Crown Center, 1801 Main Street, Evanston. Find out more about the event here.
Volunteers have a flexible time commitment and can participate several ways, including set up/tear down, helping with logistics, supporting family activities and the resource fair. Interested members should volunteer directly with the event planners using this form. Please identify WCE as your member organization, and let Susan Barrett Kelly know that you have volunteered, so we can track the number of WCE volunteers.

Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park
Section II, Begins at NE corner of Oakton St. and McCormick Blvd,

Weather permitting, trained volunteer docents lead informal and informative walking tours of the Sculpture Park. The docents discuss each piece along the paths, describing the concepts, materials and the artists.
Tours begin promptly at 1:00 PM on Sundays and are approximately one hour in length, subject to weather conditions. Tours cover one section of the Sculpture Park each month. There is a lot of walking, but wheelchairs with someone to push are welcome. Dogs on leash and bicycles also welcome.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets. One donation can save more than one life. WCE will help to fill this need by hosting a blood donation drive with the American Red Cross (ARC) on Friday, September 6 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM in our clubhouse. The blood drive, including donation appointments, will be managed by ARC. Information about how WCE members can make an appointment for donation will be posted here when it becomes available.
