Support Our Mission

Today the tradition of philanthropy and service continues in our mission to connect women behind a shared purpose of volunteerism, social empowerment, and community support.

The WCE continues to advance women, hosting events like International Women’s Day; programs on current events and culture; and our Premier Philanthropic Events including the Holiday BazaarWCE RevueDreams Deliveredand the Spring Benefit.  Through active involvement, members develop as community leaders and form lifelong friendships.

This year, we are celebrating the 22nd year of the WCE’s Community Grants Program.

Each year, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations in Evanston and surrounding communities are invited to submit grant applications.  Since 2000, the WCE’s Contributions Committee has designated an annual funding focus.  For the 2022-2023 application cycle, the funding focus is as follows:

To support programs and organizations that serve Evanston, Skokie and Rogers Park by encouraging children to grow through the arts.

The arts have been shown to foster healing and mental well-being and the Pandemic has taken an emotional and physical toll on society, particularly children.  Funding is needed to support the many underfunded arts programs that help children develop and flourish.

Applications will be used to select recipients for:

  • 2022-23 Community Grants (generally between $500 - $5,000)
  • 2024 WCE Revue Beneficiary (between $20,000 - $30,000)
  • 2024 WCE Spring Benefit Beneficiary ($30,000+) and
  • 2023-24 Clubhouse Usage Award
